About Danielle Colby
Danielle Colby is a reality television star from the United States who now participates on the History channel’s reality show titled American Pickers. She went to a burlesque show in Chicago, where she was living with her family, and saw a performance that featured the comic Margaret Cho and the dancer Satan’s Angel. After moving back with her family to the Quad Cities area of Iowa, she created the professional burlesque troupe Burlesque Le Moustache, with nine performers, including Colby herself under the stage name Dannie Diesel, touring eastern Iowa and western Illinois.
This desire to become a burlesque dancer was sparked in her as a result of this event. As of the month of October 2014, Colby was the owner of a burlesque school in the Rogers Park district of Chicago. The school was called Dannie Diesel’s Bump ‘n Grind Academy.
Danielle Colby was raised in the Jehovah’s Witness faith from the time of her birth in Davenport, Iowa. By the year 2004, she was already the wife of an Englishman named Robert Strong and the mother of two children. Colby’s decision to pursue a career in television ultimately resulted in the dissolution of her marriage.
Even before the idea for the program was conceived, Mike Wolfe and Colby had been close friends for ten years. Colby was like a brother to Mike. After the show was sold to the History Channel, Wolfe requested Colby to work at the office of the antique business Antique Archaeology. Antique Archaeology specializes in the study of ancient artifacts.
