About Sela Ward
As a means of supplementing her income while living in New York City and working as a storyboard artist for multimedia presentations, Ward established a modeling career. She was signed with the Wilhelmina agency, and shortly thereafter, she began appearing in advertisements for Maybelline cosmetics that were broadcast on television.
Annie Kate (née Boswell), who worked as a housewife, and Granberry Holland “G.H.” Ward, Jr., who worked as an electrical engineer, were Ward’s parents. She was born in Meridian, Mississippi. Her mother was born in Choctaw County, Alabama, but she moved with her family to Meridian when she was a child. Her father was born and raised in the city of Meridian. The eldest of four children, Ward has a sister named Jenna and two brothers named Joseph Brock and Granberry Holland Ward III. Ward is the oldest of the four children. Lamar School in Meridian was her alma mater, and she graduated with honors.
