About Rachel Zoe
The Rachel Zoe Project, the popular talk program hosted by this celebrity fashionista, frequently features her catchphrases, “I die” and “Shut the front door.” It’s understandable that this individualistic style connoisseur figured things out on her own. Without any official fashion education, Rachel Zoe has established a successful, well-respected career that she presumably refers to as “ba-na-nas.”
A Louis Of Her Own
Rachel’s parents, who were art collectors and raised her in Millburn, New Jersey, introduced her to the better things in life when she was a small child. Rachel’s mother took her to Paris when she was just thirteen years old. The vacation ignited Rachel’s passion for fashion and served as the impetus for her purchase of her first Louis Vuitton bag.
Although Rachel continued to study sociology and psychology for her B.A. at George Washington University, she was still able to satisfy her passion with fashion by working as a stylist at YM magazine throughout her undergrad years.
Rachel met Nicole Richie after graduating and agreed to become her stylist. Nicole rose to prominence as the face of the bohemian chic revolution with Rachel’s assistance. When Rachel started styling young Hollywood stars like Mischa Barton and Lindsay Lohan, she started expanding her clientele list. The real-world edge Rachel brought to her effortlessly fashionable clients was due to her lack of professional fashion background.
A To Zoe
In 2007, Rachel made the decision to start building her brand and reaching out to folks looking for some style guidance but lacking a red carpet to show it off. Style A to Zoe: The Art of Fashion, Beauty, and Everything Glamour, Rachel’s debut book, reached the top of the New York Times bestseller list.
She later went on to further her influence in the fashion industry by serving as a guest judge on America’s Next Top Model and Project Runway and working as a style advisor for the online retailer Piperlime.com.
Although the “it” stylist was the focus of L.A., Rachel Zoe’s own reality series, The Rachel Zoe Project, debuted in 2008 and gave the world its first taste of her.
Shut the front door, “I die,” and “bananas” were all used on the episode to bring the eccentric hairdresser and her team of assistants to life.
A baby – Rachel’s newest accessory
Despite letting viewers in on Rachel’s ostensibly glamorous existence, the reality program also showed the stylist’s vulnerabilities and conflicts with the media about her contentiously thin figure. As they disagreed about when to have more children, Rachel and her longtime husband Rodger Berman’s relationship was also brought to light.
However, Rodger’s persistent baby-harassment paid off when Rachel officially announced that she and Rodger were expecting their first child in November 2010.
Skyler, the gorgeous couple’s baby, was born in March 2011.
Rachel always has her finger on the pulse of what’s fashionable, whether she’s carrying a fancy purse, a pregnant bump, or teaching her A-list customers about fashion. And whether you can afford Chanel clothing or not, everyone is modeling her sense of style.
“We’ve had Audrey Hepburn, we’ve had Twiggy, we’ve had Veruschka, we’ve had Kate Moss. I’m trying to figure out why I am to blame for skinniness.”
