British model Kate Moss debuted in the 90s with a series of high profile and highly controversial advertising campaigns. It didn’t take long for her to redefine the decade as she fronted a grungy, streetwear inspired aesthetic dubbed “heroin chic” look. Originally scouted by Sarah Doukas of Storm Model Management at JFK International Airport, Moss was just 14 years old that year of 1988. Her career started with teenage magazine shoots however legendary British photographer Corinne Day, one of the de facto founding members of the early nineties “grunge” era, was thrilled by her potential. She snapped the iconic photograph of Moss wearing the native American headdress. After the picture was published on the front cover of The Face, the Generation X icon was born.

After marrying her boyfriend of four years, Jamie Hince in 2011, and taking a few lighter years, she returned in 2013 with a collaboration with Rimmel to launch their Salon Pro Nail Polish collection. That year was also the year of the “Kate Moss Auction”, in which she auctioned 59 images of herself and earned £1.5 million at Christie’s auction house. She then teamed up with Topshop in October releasing a collection of 40 pieces inspired by her own wardrobe that high street in April, 2014. Since then, Moss continues to be one of the most in demand fashion models ever. Moss has become a cultural icon, serving as a muse, a never dying inspiration to artists such as Mark Quinn, Lucien Freud and Chuck Close. She has appeared in music videos, including for the likes of Johnny Cash, The White Stripes and Primal Scream. As well as made appearances as an actress, and many more appearances as herself.
In July 2011 she married her boyfriend of four years, The Kills guitarist Jamie Hince, in a ceremony near her Cotswolds home. She wore a cream, beaded floor-length gown designed by John Galliano and her 8-year-old daughter Lila Grace acted as one of her 16 bridesmaids. In 2016, Moss made the bold career move of discontinuing her relationship with Storm Models after a full 27 years. She soon after announced the Kate Moss Agency, marketed as a talent management agency which leverages Kate’s unique connections and industry knowledge to develop and nurture talent. Moss has somewhat reinvented herself as businesswoman, releasing products under her brand name through Topshop, Longchamp and Equipment clothing.
