About Jojo Siwa
Jojo Siwa born Joelle Joanie Siwa is an American dancer, singer, vlogger and a promising YouTube star. She was born on May 19, 2003 in Omaha, Nebraska. Her mother Jessalynn is a professional dance instructor so it’s no wonder, her daughter started dancing before she turned 5. Jojo has an older brother Jayden who is also a vlogger. The rising celebrity is known as a dedicated dog person. She owns three best men’s friends—BowBow, Lulu and Coco. BowBow became a superstar pet and has her own Instagram page as well as a huge fan club of over a million followers!
As of 2020, we estimate Jojo Siwa has a net worth of $13 million dollars.
How did Jojo Siwa get so rich?
“Why don’t you sell the signature bows to the girls who want to be just like their idol?” And that’s exactly what she did. In 2016 Jojo issued her first line of colorful bows in partnership with the brand Claire’s whose target customers are girls ages 6 to 12. They were extremely popular among English pupils to such an extent, that, at some point, the school authorities had to ban the bows as they became an object of bullying (students who couldn’t afford the famous hair accessory were harassed). In order to protect her product from bad publicity, Siwa claimed that her bows are a “symbol of power, confidence, believing-ness”. Apparently, her strategy worked. In 2020 girls are still obsessed with these big expressive bows.
Another business idea was pretty obvious—to start producing mass market items like accessories, bedroom decor, books for young children and so on. The American department store J.C.Penny was happy to help a newborn talent to make money on her name.
One of the smartest business moves Jojo made was releasing her collection of dolls. They look just like the teenage pop icon and are selling like hotcakes.
Nevertheless, not all Siwa’s money-making projects were successful. Her newly issued line of cosmetics for teenagers has failed due to health risks. On June 7, 2019 the Food and Drug Administration published the results of the testing. It turned out that Jojo’s makeup items contained unsafe asbestos and had to be recalled from the market. The FDA safety alert worked and the Claire’s stopped selling the potentially dangerous cosmetics.
Yet in the grander scheme of things this isn’t going to slow JoJo Siwa down. At just 17 years of age she makes approximately $10 thousand dollars a day and has recently bought a $3.5 million dollar mansion in L.A.’s Tarzana neighborhood.
Why is she so famous?
Today Jojo is a 17 year old teenager but when her career started she was only 10. The first steps on her way to fame were made at the Abby’s Ultimate Dance Competition in 2013. Although she didn’t win the contest, it was the lucky ticket to her future popularity. Jojo has the spirit of a fighter. After the loss she decided to follow her dreams and auditioned for the Abby Lee Miller’s ALDC dance competition team in 2014. A year later she was finally accepted.
As kids and teens were getting mesmerized by the charismatic girl (Jojo is a trifecta of talent— she is equally good at dancing, singing and acting), Jojo became a popular guest on TV. In 2015 she was invited to Good Day L.A. and Good Day New York. Her biggest breakthrough happened a year later, when Siwa released the digital single “Boomerang”. It was a huge success, and the song went viral on YouTube. Up to today it has gathered around 876 million views with 4.4 million likes.
The summer of 2017 was another turning point in the singing career of this promising teenager. In June Jojo came up with her second song called “Kid In A Candy Store” and in August presented the video “Hold The Drama”. Even though these songs didn’t reach the numbers of her debut single (222 million views with 1.2 million likes for the first one and 141 million views with 740 thousand likes for the second one), the Star was, definitely, born.
What makes her so successful?
Being able to use every little thing in her own favor, being in a constant interaction with the fans, being opinionated and motivated—these are the main secrets of success from Jojo Siwa. First and foremost, it’s important to create a certain memorable image. The artist has to stand out in a crowd. Jojo nailed this PR technique. No doubt, there should be a personality behind every famous person. No amount of bows, dogs or glitter can replace the inner qualities of the star. Jojo Siwa is a talented young girl, able to juggle the music, the dance, the business and the life in the spotlight. Her success seems inevitable.
We calculate Jojo Siwa is worth $13 million dollars in 2020.
Jojo Siwa is an embodiment of the American dream. She was born in Nebraska and now she lives in Los Angeles. Like many girls she started as a young dancer but accomplished as much as an adult in only 7 years!
She is extremely ambitious and her dream is to become a Broadway dancer. Her strong charisma draws millions of fans from all around the world who call themselves “Siwanatorz”. Pretty cool for a 17 year artist, isn’t it?
Aside from all her dancing, singing and acting talents, Siwa knows foreign languages, including Spanish, Korean and even Russian. How and when she leaned these is unknown. Being a professional dancer comes with a price of broken bones. So far Joelle Joanie has two broken pinkies and an arm as a result of energetic dance moves. It goes without saying, that Jojo is a controversial figure but she knows how to draw people’s attention. All these qualities and character features made it possible for an average American girl to become a superstar of her generation.
It doesn’t look like she will ever stop impressing the public, serving as a role model for young girls who like to stand out. At the end of the day, as the Dr. Seuss once asked: “Why try to fit in when you were born to stand out?”
