About Tracey Bregman
Before joining the cast of The Young and the Restless, Bregman played the disturbed teen Donna Temple Craig on Days of Our Lives from 1978 until 1980. This role came before her time on The Young and the Restless. In addition, she had roles in the movies Happy Birthday to Me (1981) and The Concrete Jungle (1982).
Bregman was born on May 29, 1963 in Munich, Germany. Her father was an American musical arranger, record producer, and composer named Buddy Bregman, and her mother was an actress who was born in Canada named Suzanne Lloyd. She moved to California with her family when she was ten years old, having spent her childhood in Great Britain. She began her career as an actress when she was 11 years old and currently resides in Malibu, which is located in the state of California. Bregman adopted a plant-based diet at a young age and has since transitioned to a vegan way of life.
In 1987, Bregman wed Ron Recht, and the pair went on to have two sons: Landon and Austin. 2010 marked the end of their 23-year marriage, which ended in divorce. Between the months of April and June of 2010, Bregman played the role of Sheila Carter’s sister, Sarah, on The Young and the Restless in addition to her role as Lauren. During this time, Bregman continued to portray Lauren.
She was the first actress to win the Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Younger Actress in a Drama Series (back when it was called the “Outstanding Ingenue in a Drama Series”) in 1985, and she went on to be nominated for the same award again in 1987, as well as for the award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series in both 2006 and 2008. In addition, she had an appearance in the music video for Reba McEntire‘s track “I Keep On Loving You” in the year 2010, alongside her co-star on Y&R, Christian LeBlanc.
As a result of her performance in the drama/thriller film Misogynist (2013), in which she co-starred with Jonathan Bennett and Eve Mauro, Bregman was nominated for the award for best actress at the Los Angeles Underground Film Festival.
Bregman was honored with induction into the Ride of Fame on April 7, 2014, and a double-decker bus in New York City has been named after her in recognition of her many achievements. In November of 2018, Bregman was forced to leave her home in Malibu because of a wildfire.
