About Dave Stewart
After Eurythmics achieved success, Stewart began working with other artists as a producer and was responsible for the production of all of the band’s albums, either solely or in collaboration with other producers. In 1985, in addition to producing the hit album “Be Yourself Tonight” for Eurythmics, Stewart also co-produced the album “Southern Accents” for Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. Stewart also co-wrote several songs for the album, including the song “Do not Come Around Here No More,” which became a hit.
In the year 1952, Stewart was born in Sunderland, England, and he received his education at Barnes Infants and Junior School as well as Bede Grammar School for Boys. Even though he was still in his teenage years, he was able to land a record deal with the folk-rock band Longdancer. They were not able to attain commercial success despite being signed to Elton John‘s record label, The Rocket Record Company.
Both Stewart and Lennox and The Tourists went their separate ways in 1980, although the two musicians continued to collaborate in other projects. They came up with the name Eurythmics for their new musical endeavor. Although he collaborated with Mick Jagger and Daryl Hall to write the theme song for the 1986 comedy Ruthless People, Rod Stewart began to take a more active role in the film industry in 1989 when he wrote and produced the soundtrack for the Dutch film De Kassière. The score was titled Lily Was Here (English title Lily Was Here). The record, which also went by the name “Lily Was Here” and featured saxophonist Candy Dulfer, spent five weeks at the top of the charts in the Netherlands. In the summer of 1990, the track achieved a high position of No. 11 on the Billboard Hot 100 and also entered the top 10 in the United Kingdom.
Flatliners. 1991 saw the release of the follow-up album. Both albums earned the Gold certification in France, where Stewart focused the most of his efforts. Vegas was a project that Stewart worked on together with singer Terry Hall (who had previously been a member of The Specials, The Fun Boy Three, and The Colourfield) in the year 1992. The pair only published one album, which was titled “self-titled,” however the record was not successful economically. However, one of the singles from the album, “Possessed,” made it into the UK Top 40.
In 1992, he co-wrote the hit single “Stay” by Shakespears Sister with his then-wife, Siobhan Fahey (with Stewart credited under the pseudonym “Jean Guiot”), as well as several other tracks for their second album Hormonally Yours. The song was a hit, and Stewart was credited under the name “Jean Guiot.” In addition, Fahey contributed vocals to the song “Walk into the Wind” that was recorded by Stewart’s group Vegas in this year alongside Terry Hall, Olle Romo, and Emmanuel “Manu” Guiot.

In 1997, Stewart collaborated with the actress and singer Rhona Mitra on the recording of the album Come Alive. 1999 saw the release of his second studio album, titled Female Icon.
On his MySpace page in 2007, Stewart made the announcement that he will be playing live performances in 2007 that would showcase his whole career. According to the announcement, he was going to be joined on stage by a number of different guest artists in addition to a full orchestra of thirty members. In addition, Stewart has mentioned that for the first time in a considerable amount of time, he has started creating new songs on his guitar, despite the fact that at the time he did not have any plans to release a new solo album.
In 2010, Stewart collaborated with songwriter and composer Mark Warford to create and co-produce two songs titled “Lover Earth” and “Time, Faith, Love” for the dramatized audio production “A Voyage For Soldier Miles,” which was geared toward raising money for charitable causes.
