The conflict between Benzino and Eminem began in 2003, when Benzino’s The Source magazine gave The Eminem Show a rating of four out of five. This rating sparked the beginning of the feud, which has been extensively publicized. Eminem pointed the finger of blame at the publication and at Benzino, the magazine’s co-founder, for what he regarded to be an unfair ranking. During his performance in Puerto Rico, Benzino declined even the opportunity to assist in promoting his movie 8 Mile. Later on, Benzino released two diss tracks directed towards Eminem: “Pull Your Skirt Up” (in which he referred to Eminem as “2003 Vanilla Ice”) and “Die Another Day” Eminem responded by releasing “The Sauce” and “Nail in the Coffin”.
After attending the funeral for his mother on March 29, 2014 in Duxbury, Massachusetts, Scott was shot while walking home. When the bullets struck him in the shoulder and back, he was hurt, but his injuries were not life-threatening. Later, his nephew Gai Scott, who is 36 years old, was taken into custody for the shooting.
On April 16, 2019, Scott was pulled over in Brookhaven, Georgia, and he was issued a citation for driving a vehicle without insurance. He was not the insurance holder for the vehicle and was not responsible for insuring it.
In DeKalb County, Georgia, on the 22nd of June, 2019, Scott was taken into custody for an outstanding bench warrant. After being booked at the headquarters of the police department, Scott was escorted to the jail. During the time that he was being taken there, he unleashed a racially charged tirade against a police officer who was of Vietnamese heritage and was responsible for his detention. The rant contained a number of derogatory comments about mothers and many racial epithets.
On the 31st of July in the year 2020, Scott was taken into custody and charged with committing criminal damage to property. It was said that he caused damage to a Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck belonging to a man who was with Scott’s exe-girlfriend Althea Heart at the time. On February 3, 2022, Scott was taken into custody and charged with a single crime of criminal damage to property in the second degree, which is a felony.
