E-40, also known as Earl Stevens was born on November 15, 1967. He is an American Hip Hop artist, songwriter, and actor. Mr. Earl Stevens is also the founder and member of the rap group called “The Click”. After starting that group he signed them to his label called “Sick Wid It Records”. E-40 was born in Vallejo, California to a divorced mother and father. His father was already involved in the music industry which sparked Earl’s interest. After his parents divorced, his mother raised him on her own while his father made occasional visits. His mother was a hard-working woman and she had to work three jobs to provide for their family. He informed his cousin and his sister on his plan to attempt a career in rap. They later went on to create a mainstream radio hit project titled “Captain Save A Hoe”. E-40 later began to work with other talented family members to help his career reach the height he was aiming for. In 2003, Earl Stevens began appearing on radio stations and signing record deals with other major labels. He signed with labels like BME Recordings, which is owned by famous hip hop artist Lil Jon. E-40 also signed a deal with Warner Bros. Records which lead to him being featured on Lil Jon’s single “Snap Yo Fingers”. This song along with other artists allowed E-40 to be a featured artist on a top 10 billboard song.
