During the production of 102 Dalmatians, Evans was introduced to the actor Ioan Gruffudd for the first time. On New Year’s Day 2006, they announced their engagement, and on September 14th, 2007, they tied the knot in Mexico. They have two children, the younger of which was born in 2009 and the older in 2013. In January of 2021, Evans revealed that Gruffudd had been the one to suggest that they part ways. In March of 2021, Gruffudd submitted a petition to Evans for a divorce. Gruffudd submitted an application for a Temporary Domestic Violence Restraining Order (TRO) against Evans in February 2022, and it was ultimately approved.
Evans was born in Summit, New Jersey, to British parents David Evans, a mathematician, and Janet Evans, a teacher. David Evans was Evans’ father, and Janet Evans was his mother. She went to Henbury school in Bristol, where she was educated with her two brothers, Anthony and Philip. She was born and raised in Bristol. She received a 2:1 in French and Italian from University College London, where she studied those languages.
After she received her education, she went to Paris to begin her studies at the Cours Florent. Her breakout performance as the French student Susan in the French sitcom Elisa Top Modele, which aired on French television and ran for a total of 18 months, helped her land work in the industry. After that, she traveled to Italy to perform the role of “Nathalie” in the Italian miniseries Le ragazze di Piazza di Spagna, which aired in 1998.
