About Kathy Hilton
In the 1980s and early 1990s, Hilton was the owner and operator of her own gift and antiques store in Los Angeles called The Staircase on Sunset Plaza. In 2002, she made her debut with item sales on the QVC home shopping network, which is broadcast on cable television. In the year 2007, she launched a trademark skincare brand that was sold on HSN. In the year 2008, Hilton released a fragrance under the name “My Secret”.
She is the mother of socialite Paris Hilton and fashion designer Nicky Hilton, as well as the half sister of Kim Richards and Kyle Richards, who star on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. Hilton has also starred in that series from its inception in 2021.
As a result of her father’s subsequent marriage, Hilton also has five paternal half-siblings. She received her diploma from Montclair College Preparatory School in Los Angeles, where she met Michael Jackson, who would go on to become her best friend. They remained close friends up until his passing in 2009.
Her mother’s side of the family has Irish lineage, while the Italian heritage comes from her father’s side of the family. Later on, Paris Hilton’s parents got a divorce, and her mother remarried a man named Kenneth E. Richards (1917–1998). Kenneth E. Richards was already the father of three grown children from a previous marriage, and he was also the father of Hilton’s two maternal half-sisters, the actresses Kim and Kyle Richards.
1968 marked the beginning of Hilton’s career as a child actress, from which she would eventually retire in 1979. Nanny and the Professor, Bewitched, Family Affair, Happy Days, and The Rockford Files are just some of the shows on which she has made notable cameos. She has also appeared in the films The Dark and On the Air Live with Captain Midnight. When she was 20 years old, Hilton tied the knot with Richard Hilton on November 24, 1979. They are the parents of four children, namely Paris Hilton (1981), Nicky Hilton (1983), Barron Nicholas Hilton II (1989), and Conrad Hughes Hilton III (1994). There are a total of six grandchildren for Hilton, three of them are Nicky’s. two were written by Barron, and one was written by Paris. Richard and Kathy have a home in the Bel Air neighborhood of Los Angeles.
She was the host of the reality show “I Want to Be a Hilton,” which aired on NBC in 2005. In 2011, she also made an appearance on the show The World According to Paris. In 2007, Hilton participated in a fundraising effort for the Make-A-Wish Foundation by soliciting celebrities to auction off some of their personal things and donate the revenues to the organization. In 2011, she was presented with an award by the Starlight Children’s Foundation at the organization’s ‘A Stellar Night’ Gala in Century City, Los Angeles. She was joined at the event by her two daughters.

Hilton stated in June 2012 that she does not watch The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills because she cannot bear to see her half-sisters Kim and Kyle Richards’ life “break down in tears” on the show because they made her “fall apart”
It was announced in October 2020 that Hilton would make an appearance on the show as a friend of the housewives during the eleventh season of the show. The audience enjoyed her participation in the show, and it did not take long for her to become a favorite among the viewers. People magazine referred to her as “already a Real Housewives of Beverly Hills legend” in their article published in June 2021, which also stated that “Bravo’s only mistake in casting Kathy Hilton on the show is that they didn’t do it sooner.”
