About Alan Walker
On August 17, 2014, Walker shared the song “Fade” with the public. After its re-release on November 19, 2014, via the record label NoCopyrightSounds, the music attracted more listeners and garnered more notice. Walker claimed that K-391 and Ahrix, whose tunes were both picked up by the record company, were the primary sources of inspiration for the production of the track. Over 400 million people have watched the video on YouTube, while 115 million people have played it on Spotify, and 41 million people have listened to it on SoundCloud.
Alan Olav Walker was born on August 24, 1997 in Northampton, England. His parents, Philip Alan Walker, a British citizen of Anglo-Scottish descent, and Hilde Omdal Walker, a Norwegian citizen, were married at the time. As a direct consequence of this, he was able to inherit dual citizenship from both the United Kingdom and Norway due to the international background of his parents.
The remastered vocal version of “Fade” was released as Walker’s next single after he obtained a contract with MER Musikk, which is a subsidiary of Sony Music Sweden. It was released on the 8th of December in 2015 and included Iselin Solheim, a pop singer from Naustdal who was not credited. The single finished the year atop the charts in 33 countries, including Austria, Germany, Switzerland, and Sweden, as well as the charts on iTunes.
In 2016, Walker had produced between 30 and 40 songs in total, but “Faded” is his first single with Sony Music Sweden and the first to gain such widespread success. This also marks the first time that Walker has worked with Sony Music Sweden.
