Patrick Denard Douthit is a popular music producer and rapper known under his stage name 9th Wonder. He has been musically active since the late ’90s but his breakthrough moment came in 2003 when he published an unofficial remix album of Nas’ album God’s Son, a rendition that he named God’s Stepson. He received positive attention and earned much of his wealth stemming off of that. As of 2023, 9th Wonder’s net worth is about $1.3 million.
He was born January 15, 1975 in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. He worked as a main producer for the band Little Brother. In 2005, he published his first album Dream Merchant Vol. 1. Other solo projects like The Wonder Years and Tutankhamen followed. In 2015, he collaborated with Talib Kweli on album Indie 500.
9th Wonder was appointed Artist-In-Residence by the North Carolina Central University and started instructing a hip hop history class. He has also been accepted into Harvard University Hip Hop Archive.
