Who Is Willow Smith
Oh, yes she did! This pint-sized diva whipped her hair and got people across the country whipping theirs too. So, what’s next for the adolescent ponytail tosser? World domination, of course.
American singer Willow Smith has a net worth of $6 million dollars, as of 2020.
Born Into Hollywood Royalty
Born in Los Angeles, California to famous parents Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith, it was no doubt that Willow had the kind of star caliber genes that would later launch her into the spotlight in a big way when she was only nine years old. Growing up around her mom and dad’s movie sets, Willow was no stranger to what it was like to be in front of the camera.
Her dad, who had pulled her brother Jaden into his 2006 film The Pursuit of Happyness, did the same for Willow in his 2007 film, I Am Legend. In the flick Willow played his daughter Marley Neville. The following year, Willow went on to snag a role in the children’s flick Kit Kittredge: An American Girl and voiced the animated movie Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa alongside her mom.
Mastering The Trifecta
With a strong acting foundation under her psychedelically chic belt, Willow went on to land a recurring guest role in the Nickelodeon series True Jackson, VP. Already a film and TV veteran before her age hit the double digits, Willow tried her hand at a music career and hit solid gold.
In September 2010, Willow’s first single, ‘Whip My Hair’, was leaked on the internet. The catchy track became an instant hit and started blasting from every club—not that she was old enough to go to a club. Everyone from on-air news anchors to red carpet celebs were talking about how this bite sized cutie got their own heads whipping from side to side. From there Willow scored a record deal with Jay-Z’s label, Roc Nation, and went on to produce a music video for the radio hit that immediately went viral.
While her career is just beginning, if her last name has anything do with her success’s future trajectory, we have a feeling that Miss Smith will be whipping hits our way for a long time to come.
Defining Quote “Whip my hair means don’t be afraid to be yourself and don’t let anybody tell you that’s wrong because the best thing is you.”
