Wayne Mark Rooney, an English professional football manager and former player, was born on October 24, 1985. His estimated net worth is $175 million. Rooney was the interim player-manager for Derby County, a Championship team, before taking over as manager. When the striker scored the winning goal against Arsenal in October 2002, five days before turning 17, he set a new record for the youngest player in Premier League history. However, there was always a nagging sense that this firebrand would not be at Goodison Park for very long. Hitting Big Time
In his debut season with United, Rooney netted 17 goals in all competitions. Critics were gushing over this tough youth who had the talent to compete with some of the game’s greatest players but a dubious demeanor that caused him to clash with referees. The fact that he received 18 domestic yellow cards throughout the 2003–04 and 2004–05 seasons was a good indication of the area of his game that needed improvement.
But Rooney has been able to rein in the less admirable aspects of his play, and he is now trusted not to lash out in response to slights.
Rooney and Cristiano Ronaldo had a fantastic rapport, and the duo was outstanding when United won the Premier League and Champions League in 2008. In the summer of 2009, the Portuguese star departed for Real Madrid, and as a result of his departure, Rooney grew in importance at Old Trafford.

England Career
When England faced Australia, Rooney, then 17 years old, became the team’s youngest player to play and score. Rooney still maintains the record for most goals scored, although Theo Walcott has already overtaken him as the youngest player. He then had a strong Euro 2004 and, despite receiving a petulant red card at the 2006 World Cup for stamping on Portugal’s Ricardo Carvalho, has grown into one of England coach Fabio Capello’s crucial players.
In a friendly matchup against Brazil in November 2009, the striker took over as captain in place of an ailing John Terry.
Rooney’s performance at the 2010 World Cup was disappointing because he didn’t appear to be the same player who had wowed United the season before.
