Sara was born on 21 July 1991 in Porto, Portugal. When she was 16, Sara won a hair modeling contest in Portugal called Cabelos Pantene 2007, which kick-started her modeling career. After completing her high school diploma, Sara attended the University of Lisbon part-time. She also had a part-time job as an editor early on while she was starting her modeling career.
