Roy Wood was born on November 8th, 1946, in Kitts Green, Birmingham. His first group was the Falcons in Birmingham in the early sixties. He left the group in 1963 and joined Gerry Levene and the Avengers, and then moved to Mike Sheridan and the Nightriders. Roy attended the Moseley College of Art, but he was expelled in 1964, according to AllMusic.
He published several albums, Boulders in 1973, Mustard in 1975, On The Road Again in 1979, which wasn’t released in the UK, and Starting Up in 1987. As a songwriter, Roy contributed a number of hits to the repertoire of stated bands. He is known for playing on Fender Stratocaster, Fender Electric XII, and Gibson J-45. These guitars are classics.
