Roger Ailes was born on May 15th, 1940, in Warren, Ohio. His career in TV started when he was 22 years old with a job as a property assistant in KYW-TV. Then he promoted to producer and an executive producer. He was a producer for The Mike Douglas Show which gained him a nomination for a Daytime Emmy Award.
Besides his career in television, Ailes is known for his work as a political consultant. He worked on Ronald Reagan’s and George Bush’s campaigns. He was also a consultant for president Nixon. In 1988, Ailes published a book titled You Are the Message: Secrets of the Master Communicators.
Roger Ailes established Fox News TV channel in October 1996. In August 2005, he became the chairman of the Fox Television Stations Group.
Ailes was married to Elizabeth Tilson from 1998 til 2017, and the couple have a son together. They have a luxurious residence in Garrison, New York, however Ailes reportedly lives in Cresskill, New Jersey.
