At the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, Jones had a huge setback when, in the 100-meter final, she accidentally clipped the 9th hurdle with her foot, dropping her back to 7th place. At the 25th Vardinoyiannia athletics meet, Jones won the 100-meter hurdles event in 2009.
Jones won two medals in 2010: a gold medal at the World Indoor Championships for her run in the 60-meter hurdles, which set a new US record of 7.72 seconds, and a silver medal at the IAAF Continental Cup in the 100-meter hurdles. Jones qualified for a position on the US Olympic squad for the 2012 Summer Olympics after finishing third in the 100-meter hurdles event at the US Olympic trials in 2012.
