Jonathan Park, known professionally as Dumbfoundead was born on February 18th, 1986, in Buenos Aires, Argentina to South Korean immigrants. They moved to the United States when he was young and he spent his childhood in the Koreatown neighborhood of LA. His passion for hip hop started when he was little, joining an open-mic workshop: Project Blowed. He dropped out of high school and tried a number of different jobs before focussing on his music.

Dumbfoundead is an American rapper and actor. He began his career in the 2000s as a battle rapper in Los Angeles and has since become one of the most prominent Asian-American rappers in the United States, known for his witty and socially aware lyrics. Dumbfoundead gained popularity initially through a self-titled YouTube channel.

In 2009, Dumbfoundead started uploading music videos on YouTube and growing his large fan base. His channel has currently over 500 thousand subscribers an more than 150 million views. Dumbfoundead is known for enjoying rap battles, such as the one against Conceited in 2015.

In November 2011, he released his debut solo album titled DFD. During his career, Dumbfoundead has released four solo albums: Take the Stares, Old Boy Jon, and We Might Die. He has also worked on a number of album collaborations. You can also see him starring in a supporting role in the 2011 horror movie Detention.

In 2016, he released the music video Safe, which superimposes his own likeness onto the faces of white actors in famous movie scenes.  The music video was to highlight the under-representation of Asian Americans in the film and music industries and gained widespread attention. In April 2020, Peacock, the streaming division of NBCUniversal, began development of a half-hour comedy television series based on Park’s life entitled Big Dummie.
