About Don Perkins
Donald Anthony Perkins played fullback for the Dallas Cowboys in the National Football League. Perkins, who was raised and educated in Waterloo, Iowa, received eight letters for Waterloo West High School, including four in football and four in track (sprinter). He engaged in basketball as well. By the time he was a junior, Perkins was the track team’s captain.
Perkins, a halfback who played both offense and defense for his unbeaten football team in 1955, was named to the first All-state team. In his senior year, he served as student body president.
