About Corin Nemec
Joseph Charles Nemec IV, sometimes known as Corin Nemec, is an American actor, producer, and screenwriter. Up until 1990, he was billed as Corin “Corky” Nemec or Corky Nemec. His mother Janis was a painter, writer, poet, and graphic artist. His father, Joseph Charles Nemec III, is of Czech ancestry and works as a set designer and production designer in the motion picture industry. Anastacia C. Nemec, his older sister, also works as an assistant director.
When they were still teenagers, Corin dated Jami Beth Schahn, and in 1993, they welcomed their first child, Sadie Joy. Jami and Corin wed in 2002, and Lucas Manu, their second child, was born in 2005. In 2009, Corin and Jami got divorced and decided to split custody of their kids.
Nemec owns a production company with Married… with Children actor David Faustino, with whom he is good friends and co-produced Hollow’s debut album, which features Jon Dishongh and is from Austin. Star-ving, a Web series by Tharp the that parodies HBO’s Entourage, had Nemec and Faustino as co-stars.
When Nemec was 13 years old, his father’s art direction for the kid’s movie The Goonies served as inspiration for him to pursue acting. He also mentions acting as “seeming like the appropriate thing to do” and the influence of his parents’ artistic careers.
After participating in one of the theatrical company’s talent showcases, Nemec signed on with an agent and started his training there. He was cast in a number of advertisements, including those for Suzuki, and eventually won a cameo role on the television series Sidekicks, which starred Ernie Reyes Jr., with whom Nemec is still close.
In 1988’s Tucker: The Man and His Dream, he played his first significant film role. He made appearances in a number of TV programmes, and his depiction of Steven Stayner in the NBC miniseries I Know My First Name Is Steven earned him an Emmy nomination. He co-starred in the 1990 motion picture Solar Crisis with stars Jack Palance, Peter Boyle, and Charlton Heston.
From 1990 until 1993, Nemec portrayed the main character in Parker Lewis Can’t Lose. Nemec was also chosen to play Harold Lauder in a 1993 television production of Stephen King‘s The Stand. He had a prominent part in the 1997 film Goodbye, America. Additionally, he appeared in the TV movies Blackout with Jane Seymour and My Brother’s Keeper with Jeanne Tripplehorn. In addition to Tales from the Crypt, Smallville, CSI: NY, CSI: Miami, Supernatural, and Ghost Whisperer, Nemec made appearances on a number of other TV programmes.
He has played serial killers Ted Bundy and Richard Speck. He starred in several original Sci Fi Channel (United States) made-for-TV films, including Lake Placid vs. Anaconda, Sea Beast, Mansquito, SS Doomtrooper, Dragon Wasps, and Mansquito. Nemec briefly dabbled in hip-hop in the 1990s, recording a complete album with the Starship of Foolz group, which was founded by Matt Robinson and Dedra Tate and was overseen by actor Balthazar Getty. Paul Mooney, the father of fellow Starship of Fools member Shane Mooney, served as the president of the United States in a new comic book series that Nemec also created. Additionally, he made an appearance in the Willie Nelson and Toby Keith song “Beer for My Horses” music video.
He played Jonas Quinn on Stargate SG-1 from 2002 to 2004, temporarily taking Michael Shanks’ (Daniel Jackson’s) place in the lineup of the SG-1 crew.
While producing the movie Poseidon Rex in January 2013, Nemec was injured in a boating incident. The boat struck a partially submerged barge as it was ferrying him to a Belizian Coast Guard vessel. He endured five operations and many blood transfusions to preserve his life because the right side of his body was completely broken.
According to the Tampa Bay Times, Corin moved to Tampa Bay on September 22nd, 2022, to start work on a series of independent movies with Scatter Brothers Productions, the filming of numerous new movies that also star Jeremy London, and to be closer to his girlfriend Sabrina Nova Tropf. Nemec is best remembered for his roles as Harold Lauder in the ABC miniseries The Stand, Jonas Quinn in the TV series Stargate SG-1, and the lead character in the FOX sitcom Parker Lewis Can’t Lose (1990–1993).
