About Robert Griffin III
Robert Lee Griffin III, sometimes known as RG3 and RGIII, is an American football quarterback with a reputed net worth of $15 million. He was born on February 12, 1990. In 1990, Robert Griffin III was born to military parents in Okinawa, Japan. Griffin settled in Copperas Cove, Texas, and played basketball, track, and football in high school. Griffin gained more than 2,100 yards on the ground and scored 32 touchdowns in only two seasons while also passing for more than 3,300 yards and scoring 41 times. He broke the 110 and 300 meter hurdles state records while competing on the track.
Griffin had made a commitment to play for Art Briles at the University of Houston, but Briles followed Griffin to Baylor University. At the age of 17, he enrolled in classes in Waco in the spring of 2008 after finishing high school a semester early.
RGIII is the winner of the Heisman Trophy.
In 2011, as a junior at Baylor after suffering an ACL injury the previous year, RG3 had his breakthrough season. Griffin threw for more over 350 yards and five touchdowns in the Bears’ victory over TCU to start the season. He was the first Baylor Bear to win the Heisman after a 10-3 campaign in which he threw for more over 4,000 yards, 37 touchdowns, and only six interceptions. He also scored 10 touchdowns on the run while rushing for little under 700 yards.
In the NFL Draft, RGIII
After graduating in three years, RG3 declared for the 2012 NFL Draft, where the Washington Redskins selected him with the second overall choice. He became the first starting quarterback in the NFL born in the 1990s when Washington named him the starter for the 2012 season.
Griffin won the NFL Rookie of the Week award and went on to win the Offensive Rookie of the Month award for September after throwing for more than 350 yards and two scores in his debut.
