About Nastia Liukin
Anastasia Valeryevna “Nastia” Liukina, an American former artistic gymnast who was born in Russia on October 30, 1989, is thought to have a net worth of $3 million. When Nastia Liukin won five gold at the 2008 Olympics, she joined the elite group of gymnasts that had come before her. Anastasia Liukin was Nastia’s name when she was born in Moscow, Russia, in 1989. When she was two and a half years old, her parents made the decision to relocate the family to the United States. Nastia naturally spent a lot of time in the gym because both of her parents were elite gymnasts who later became coaches. She was frequently seen imitating the exercises other gym goers were doing.
Early Gymnastics Career of Liukin
In 2005, Nastia started her debut season at the senior elite level. She earned five gold medals in her first competition at the World Olympic Gymnastics Classic. Nastia won the all-around competition in 2006 and successfully defended her National Championship titles on the beam and bars events. She was chosen to represent the United States at the World Championships, but was unable to compete because of an ankle injury she suffered during a pre-competition training session. Liukin performed well on several routines despite being injured, which helped the US win the silver medal.
Long-Term Success
She made a comeback in 2007 to represent the United States in the Pan American Games following surgery and a protracted rehab. She contributed to the team’s gold-medal triumph and won two silvers on the uneven bars and the balance beam. Nastia competed in the U.S. Nationals despite still being injured and lacking the normal training, retaining her title on the bars for the third consecutive year, coming in second on the beam, and taking bronze in the all-around. After Nationals, Nastia won a silver on the uneven bars, reclaimed her world champion title on the beam, and helped the team win the gold medal at the World Championships.

Liukin kept winning and placing at other meetings throughout 2008. She was chosen to compete for the American Olympic squad in Beijing following yet another impressive showing at the trials in Philadelphia. Nastia was everywhere at the National Indoor Center during the Olympics as she prepared to compete in the all-around, individual bars, uneven beam, and floor exercise. For the team finals, she also displayed her skills on the beam, bars, and floor.
Gold Medal for Nastia Liukin
Liukin earned silver on the bars and beam, and the Americans took home a silver medal as a team. She finished third on the floor and won the all-around competition. With Mary Lou Retton and Carly Patterson as the only other American gymnasts to achieve this feat, her amazing performance earned her five gold. Nastia won the USOC Co-Sportswoman of the Year, FIG Athlete of the Year, and USAG Sportswoman of the Year awards as a result of her achievement at the Olympics.
Since 2008, Nastia Liukin has participated in a meager number of competitions, but she has been training in an effort to qualify for the 2012 Olympics. She said, “When you experience something like the Olympic Games, you will do anything in your power to get back there again.” in an interview at the American Cup on March 3, 2012. If Liukin can compete in the Olympics again, time will tell.
