About Henry Thomas
A lot of pressure was put on Thomas in the months after E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial came out because of his sudden rise to fame. Thomas returned to his role as Elliott in an Xfinity & Sky UK commercial in November 2019, wherein a mature Elliott and his family are surprised by E.T.’s return for the holidays. Henry Jackson Thomas Sr., his father, worked as a hydraulic machinist, while his mother, Carolyn L. (née Davis), stayed at home to raise their son. Jr. got his education at East Central High and continued on to Blinn College.
In the 1990s, Thomas was a member of a San Antonio band called The Blue Heelers (after a type of dog). In 1998, his collaboration with the Blue Heelers, “Truckstop Coffee” was featured on the soundtrack for the film Niagara, Niagara, released by V2.
Together with Nikki Sudden, Thomas composed and performed four original songs for the 2003 Mika Kaurismäki film Honey Baby, in which he portrayed the fictional musician Tom Brackett. On May 10th, 2004, Thomas wed actress Marie Zielcke. A planned record was cut short by Sudden’s untimely death in 2006. Their little girl’s name was Hazel. They officially called it quits in 2007. With his current wife, Annalee, and their two children, Thomas relocated to Wilsonville, Oregon, in 2014.
Recently, Thomas has worked with director Mike Flanagan, starring in the films The Haunting of Hill House (2018) and its sequel, The Haunting of Bly Manor (2020), as well as the films Ouija: Origin of Evil (2016), Gerald’s Game (2017), and Doctor Sleep (2019). He starred in the 2021 season of Flanagan’s horror anthology Midnight Mass.

Early in his career, he won a Young Artist Award and was nominated for Golden Globe, BAFTA, and Saturn Awards for his performance as Elliott the Extra-Terrestrial in the 1982 film E.T.
