About Galilea Montijo
After taking first place in La Chica TV in 1993, Montijo launched her professional acting career. She has appeared in multiple telenovelas throughout her career. Galilea was the host of the show VidaTV from the years 2001 till 2005. She won the 2002 season of the reality show Big Brother VIP after competing in the show. In addition, she was a contestant on the second season of “Bailando por un Sueo” in the year 2005. Alongside Gabriel Soto, Montijo had a starring role in the Mexican soap “La Verdad Oculta” in the year 2006.
She is presently the host of Hoy, a morning show that is broadcast by Televisa and may be seen on Las Estrellas in Mexico as well as in the United States (on Univision). In its first and second editions, the talent competition reality show “Pequeos Gigantes,” which Montijo presented, was a huge hit in both Mexico and the United States where it was once again broadcast by Univision.
In 2014, she served as the host of the television program “Va Por Ti” which was a co-production between Univision and Televisa. The program was initially broadcast on Univision, where it garnered significantly higher ratings than its rivals. In 2015, she will serve as the host of the television program “Me Pongo De Pie” which will be shown in both Mexico and the United States.
She made the announcement in November 2020 that she got a positive test result for COVID-19 and that she was forced to cancel a number of professional obligations as a result.
