About Charisma Carpenter
Henry Hubbard Jr., a former San Diego police officer and serial rapist, attacked Charisma along with two male friends when they were swimming in San Diego in the year 1991. He attempted to detain them at gunpoint in order to gain control over them. During the struggle, both of her companions as well as Hubbard were shot, which forced Hubbard to flee the scene; both of her friends survived the assault. After being arrested, tried, and convicted for a string of robberies and rapes, Hubbard was handed a sentence of 56 years in jail. In February of 2021, Carpenter expressed her disapproval of director Joss Whedon and defended Ray Fisher, who had previously stated that he had also been subjected to a hostile working environment at the hands of the director. She stated that he had fired her from her position at Angel due to the fact that she was pregnant.
