Christopher Lee Rios became a famous rapper under the moniker Big Pun. He tragically died in 2000 because of heart attack. But during his successful career, he managed to acquire sizable wealth. How Did Big Pun Get So Rich?
Big Pun was born November 10, 1971 in New York into a Puerto Rican family. He had troubled childhood and started rapping in 1980’s. His first nickname was Big Moon Dawg and later changed that to Big Punisher that slowly evolved into shorter Big Pun. In 1996, he started working on his debut studio album Capital Punishment which was finally released in 1998.
His future in hip hop looked really bright and his net worth started to grow fast. However, Big Pun had lifelong problems with heavy obesity. These health issues most likely led to his heart attack in 2000. He never lived to see his second album Yeeeah Baby going to market.
Although majority of his wealth came from music, Big Pun was also an aspiring actor. He played for example in Thicker Than Water, Urban Menace, and Whiteboyz. Too bad that his promising career was stopped so soon. We are sure he could make it really far with his talent.
