About Yoel Romero
The sport of mixed martial arts now predominates the airwaves, unlike in the past. Given how many fights spectators may see over time, it’s getting tougher and harder for them to be impressed. Most boxers are merely observed and then forgotten. But Yoel Romero is an exception to that rule.
Date of Birth: Yoel Romero was born on April 30, 1997 in Pinar del Rio, Cuba.
Training Camp and Fighting Organization:
Romero trains at American Top Team in Coconut Creek, Florida. He fights for the UFC.
Romero is a huge man who moves as quickly as a cat. His strength, both in takedowns and on his feet, is absolutely amazing. Overall, seeing him appears almost like watching a cartoon because of how physically strong he is.

Experience with martial arts
Romero comes from a different kind of wrestling background than most people. No, we’re referring to a man who represented his own Cuba by taking part in the Olympic Games in 2000 and 2004. He finished fourth in 2004 and took home a silver medal in the freestyle category in 2000. He has also defeated former Olympic gold medalist Cael Sanderson twice and has won the FILA Wrestling World Championship before.
He has proven to be among the top wrestlers in the world, to put it simply.
Beginnings of MMA
Romero made his professional MMA debut on December 20, 2009, defeating Sascha Weinpolte by first round TKO at Fight of the Night 2009 after defecting to Germany in 2007. In actuality, he went on to win his first four contests before falling to Rafael Cavalcante in his lone Strikeforce battle via second-round KO. The UFC called a couple of years later.
Beginnings of UFC
On April 20, 2013, Romero made his UFC debut at the Henderson vs. Melendez UFC on FOX event. He KO’d Clifford Starks in the opening round (flying knee and punches).
Combative Style
The trademark moves of Romero are explosive punches, explosive double leg takedowns, and ground pounding. You shouldn’t anticipate him to be on his back very frequently because he doesn’t want to be there.
He’s ultimately a vicious stoppage waiting to happen.
Several of Yoel Romero’s greatest triumphs include:
At UFC 178, Romero knocks out Tim Kennedy in the third round: This combat was quite intense. Romero was visibly stunned as the bell rang for the second round. He was allowed extra time (controversially) to answer the bell at the beginning of the third after originally refusing to do so. Regardless, he finished his opponent on the mat for the biggest victory of his MMA career to date after landing a powerful right hook early in the fourth frame.
Romero KOs Clifford Starks in the opening frame of the UFC on FOX fight: Melendez vs. Henderson: The world pays attention when a man Romero’s size scores a flying knee in his UFC debut. That was the situation when he punched Starks after defeating him.
Sascha Weinpolte is KO’d by Romero in the opening round of Fight of the Night 2009: It’s a memorable day if you triumph in your professional mixed martial arts debut. When Romero eliminated Weinpolte after leaving his own Cuba, that was the situation.
