“There are times on these shows when you think, ‘Oh God after all this time the wrong person won’ — but you know, when he sang [Chris Young’s “Tomorrow”] at the end and you hear how good his voice is and his story, you could not not root for him. I think America got it right.” — Simon Cowell

Who Is Tate Stevens

Tate Stevens was born Stephen Eatinger on March 1, 1975, in Japan. Despite wikipedia.org claiming he was born in Belton, Missouri, United States, this is not true. Tate Stevens’s father Steve Stevens was in the Air Force and stationed in Japan, this is where Tate was born.

From tatestevensofficial.com: “The youngest of five children of an Air Force airman, he was born in Japan and soon moved to Wichita Falls, Texas, where his father played in a country band.”

American country music artist Tate Stevens has a net worth of $4 million dollars, as of 2020. Best known for winning The X Factor U.S. in 2012 and on the back of that getting a $5 million recording contract with RCA Records Nashville and Syco Music.

Like his father, Tate started out singing in country bands. Then after graduation Stevens sung in the Dixie Cadillacs. It was the first of many country bands of which he would become a member. In the beginning he was performing with the Outlaw Junkies and his own Tate Stevens Band. As a man with a tough upbringing with very little money, he worked construction to make ends meet while furthering his career as a music artist.
