About Sidney Crosby

The Junior Career of Crosby
The center played for Rimouski Océanic, a junior team in the Canadian Hockey League, after one season at Shattuck. With 66 goals and an astounding 102 assists in his rookie season in the CHL, Crosby topped his team in points during the regular season.
Sid participated in the 2004 World Junior Hockey Championship at the early age of 16 and helped Canada win a coveted silver medal. Sid, who was actually still a child, and team Canada made amends the following year by winning a gold medal.
NHL Achievements and Career
Crosby’s joy did not last only briefly. He was selected first overall by the Pittsburgh Penguins in the 2005 NHL Draft, where he has since played.
By donning number 87, he serves as a constant reminder to both his admirers and detractors since he was born in 1987, just 18 years before being drafted. Crosby scored 102 points in his first season with the Penguins and 120 the next year because to his quick hockey style.
Sid was the youngest captain ever when he proudly wore the “C” on his breast in 2009.
