How Did Rasheeda Get So Rich?
Besides creating music, what made this multi-talented business lady so rich are her many fields of occupation. To hype her forthcoming debut studio album, Rasheeda released three singles – “Do It” (in collaboration with Pastor Troy, Quebo Gold, and Re Re), “Get It On (featuring Slim), and “Off the Chain” (featuring Jazze Pha). In late-March 2001, she released her debut solo album named “Dirty South”. The album was met with mixed reviews, however, it did help Rasheeda obtain some exposure and a little over $25.000.
After being dropped from Motown Records, the hip hop artist landed record deals with the British label “Big Cat Records” and the American “Tommy Boy Records”, from which she earned an additional $75.000 as per contract. Thanks to the two labels, as well as the aforementioned D-Lo Entertainment, Rasheeda’s next studio projects were a lot more successful and helped her achieve the desired fame in the hip hop world. Throughout the 2000s, she released four studio albums, three mixtapes, and one extended play, thanks to which she received a total of $200.000 and a lot of fans both in and outside the United States.
Why is she so famous?
Rasheeda attained mainstream recognition with her hip hop and crunk music projects. She was born on May 25, 1976, in Decatur, Georgia. She developed an interest in rapping during her teenage years, while she was attending the local Decatur High School, from which she graduated in 1994. Around the same time, she began writing songs.
A couple of years later, alongside two of her childhood friends, she formed the band “Da Kaperz” and they quickly stood out. After spending two years gaining experience with her friends in Da Kaperz, in 2000, Rasheed embarked on a solo career. Just a few months earlier, she married Kirk Frost, the founder and owner of the record label D-Lo Entertainment of which Rasheeda became one of the leading names. After giving birth to her first of two sons, Ky, Rasheeda decided to pursue a solo rapping career and began work on her debut studio project.
What Makes Her So Successful?
The success of the “Love and Hip Hop: Atlanta” star comes from her work in the entertainment business. After the release of four additional mixtapes and her final sixth studio album in June 2012, Rasheeda announced her hiatus from music. Also at that time, she was announced as the main cast member of the widely popular television show “Love and Hip Hop: Atlanta”. Since then, she has appeared in all of its 9 seasons 153 episodes and has contributed a lot to the creation of the music for the VH1 reality.
Since the 2010s and her departure from music, Rasheeda focused her attention on television and business ventures. Apart from the VH1 hit series, she has taken part in the likes of “The Real Housewives of Atlanta”, “Diva Life and Style”, “Love and Hip Hop: Atlanta: Check Yourself”, and “Love and Hip Hop: New York”. Apart from the television projects, she has proactively worked as a businesswoman, entrepreneur, and fashion designer. For the past couple of years, she has created her own makeup line titled “Poiz Cosmetics”, founded a store named “Pressed Boutique” in both Atlanta and Houston, and established an accessory and apparel website called “Imbossy”.
Rasheeda is known for being one of the most exciting television stars on the “Love and Hip Hop” franchise.
