About Mike Greenberg
Mike Greenberg was approached in 1999 about returning to radio in order to be a part of a morning drive-time program alongside Mike Golic as the co-host. At the time, ESPN Radio was only broadcasting in four locations. Greenberg gave his approval under the condition that he would be allowed to maintain his regular hosting role on SportsCenter.
The first episode of the regularly scheduled simulcast on ESPNEWS aired on April 26, 2004. In January of 2005, the pair made the transition to ESPN2 as a result of their ongoing success. In addition, he was the author of a weekly syndicated column for the Copley News Service, which was based in California, from 1993 to 1995. The year 1994 marked the beginning of his career as a reporter for SportsChannel Chicago.
In 1995, he decided to pursue a career in broadcasting elsewhere and took a position at CLTV, where he worked as an anchor, reporter, and host of a live call-in show. Greenberg served as the host of the game show Duel on ABC. Mike and Mike’s Rules for Sports and Life was the title of the book that Greenberg and his co-host Mike Golic wrote and published in April of 2010. In conjunction with the publication of their book, the two Mikes went on a book tour that took them to 15 different cities, including New York City, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Chicago, Dallas, Boston, and Tampa, among others. 2013 saw the publication of Greenberg’s novel, which bore the title All You Could Ask For. In January of 2015, he published the book under the title My Father’s Wives.
The 17th of November 2017 was the last day that Mike Greenberg participated in the Mike & Mike program as a co-host. On November 27, Trey Wingo, anchor of NFL Live and ESPN’s SportsCenter, became Golic’s new morning show co-host, and the two of them broadcast Mike & Mike’s successor show, Golic and Wingo, from 2017 through 2020. The show was a continuation of Mike & Mike’s show. Get Up!, a brand-new morning show on ESPN, debuted for the first time on April 2, 2018, with Greenberg as a co-host. In addition to that, he went back to ESPN Radio and started a new show there called Greeny.
