About Michael Weatherly
Michael Manning Weatherly, Jr. was born in New York City, to Patricia Ruth (Hetherington) and Michael Manning Weatherly, Sr. His family is of Irish decent and he was raised Fairfield, Connecticut and attended Fairfield Country Day School, later graduating in 1986 from Brooks School in North Andover, Massachusetts. He always had a passion for the arts growing up, he also loved music and played in a band while taking acting classes and pursuing a career as a professional actor. While Weatherly briefly attended Boston University, American University, and Menlo College, he dropped out of all of them determined to transition into a career in acting.
He was first cast as Theo Huxtable’s roommate on The Cosby Show. His appearances earned him several guest roles on television and Michael decided to relocate to Los Angeles, after he landed a regular role in the FOX series Significant Others. He appeared in 6 episodes in 1998. That same year, he met director Whit Stillman who cast him in The Last Days of Disco, and also, he appeared in the TV series Jessie, as well as in roles The Specials, Venus and Mars, and Gun Shy.
He later appeared in the role of Bill in the independent film Trigger Happy in 2001. Which was followed by a recurring role as Logan Cale in Dark Angel, a character that he portrayed for 42 episodes. After that, his career really took off when he was cast as Anthony DiNozzo in NCIS: Naval Criminal Investigative Service. Between the years of 2003 and 2016, Weatherly appeared in 306 episodes, and after his tenure on the show came to an end, he immediately began appearing as Jason Bull on hit TV show, Bull.
