She trained at the Mount Snow Academy in Vermont, graduating in the spring of 2001. The very next year she went to Salt Lake City for the 2002 Winter Olympics, and took home gold in the half pipe.
Clark’s Snowboarding Accomplishments
Clark has been instrumental in pushing the sport forward. She became the first woman to land a 1080 in competition. She’s won a total of 10 Winter X Games medals and two Olympic medals. She is by far the most successful woman to ride the half pipe.
In 2012, she had a remarkable streak, winning 16 half pipe contests in a row. She won three consecutive SuperPipe golds from 2011 to 2013 and she did it all at the age of 29. Clark has competed in three Olympic Games and has said that she plans on competing in the 2014 Winter Games in Russia.
