About Julius Caesar
Gaius Julius Caesar, a Roman general and statesman who lived from 12 July 100 BC to 15 March BC, is thought to have had a $5 trillion fortune. Some historians refer to Julius Caesar as “the greatest man of all times.” At the end of the Roman Republic, Julius Caesar oversaw governmental reforms that resulted in the establishment of the Roman Empire. Three days before the ides of July, on July 13 or 14, 100 BC, Julius Caesar was born and nurtured in a prominent family. It is thought that he was descended from the goddess Venus as well as the first king of Rome.

Caesar’s Ascendancy
He was repeatedly threatened and kidnapped by pirates, but he never lost a battle. In 57 BC, after conquering Gaul, Caesar expanded the borders of Rome to include the Rhine and the English Channel. When Caesar invaded Britain, he became the first Roman general to cross both the Rhine and the English Channel. Caesar’s political influence increased as a result of this triumph, which led to a civil war that he ultimately won.
By attempting to bolster governmental control and unify the entire empire as he ascended to power, Caesar built the Roman Empire.
Act Diurma, the earliest news publication, was made by Caesar when he had more political sway. This document established transparency between the public and the Senate and Assembly by being posted in plain sight on the forum for everyone to view.
Caesar’s Legacy
He also adjusted the calendar so that it had 12 months, 365 days, and a leap day in February. This calendar was widely used until the Gregorian calendar was created in 1582.
In secret, Caesar had four marriages and many mistresses. The most famous of his mistresses was Cleopatra, with whom he had a son who would eventually rule Egypt.
He was appointed dictator for life at a later point in his life. Marcus Brutus had him killed on the ides of March in 44 BC because some conspirators thought he would attempt to become king.
His murder paved the way for the creation of the Roman Empire, the 1st Roman Prince, his adopted heir Emperor Augustus, and more.
