How did Josh Owens get rich?

Josh Owens used to be a professional motocross and superbike racer before he became a cast member on the Moonshiners. In 2003 and 2004, he won a motocross champion title.

He also describes himself as a lumberjack, hunter, inventor, and last but not least, a father. He likes kayaking, mountain climbing, and spending time with his dog. Josh has a daughter who he loves very dearly and he is also a lover of all animals.

The Moonshiners premiered on December 6th, 2011 on the Discovery Channel and tells the story of the lives of people who make moonshine. Josh first made his Moonshiners debut in November 2012 in the second season first episode, Rise N Shine, and continues to be part of it.

Josh was born in Columbus, North Carolina, United States on 28th August 1977. He is the eldest of two children from his mother Cindy Owens. His sister Chelsea Morris was born on 15th October 1991.

He landed a role in Discovery show, Moonshiners because of his late friend Barney Barnwell, a Moonshining legend of the local area. Barney mentored Josh in brewing and shining the shine. Originally, Barney was engaged to be a cast in the docudrama, and asked Josh to bill an underground still for the impending show.

However Barney passed on before filming began but the producers of the show were so impressed with Josh’s work on the still that he was hired to be part of the show.

What is moonshine? You may know it as mountain dew, white whiskey or hooch. It is a high-proof distilled spirit, which is usually produced illegally.
