After completing her studies at university, Bryant relocated to Baltimore. In 2002, she tied the knot with megachurch pastor and activist Jamal Harrison Bryant, and the couple now has three daughters together. They first became acquainted with one another while working together on issues pertaining to civil rights and social justice at the national headquarters of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People in Baltimore, Maryland.
Gizelle Graves Bryant was born on September 9, 1970 in Houston, Texas, under the name Gizelle Bryant. Her parents, Curtis Graves, a former politician and civil rights leader, and Joanne Graves were her parents at the time. In 1992, she received a degree in marketing from Hampton University, where she had previously studied.
Gizelle filed for divorce from Jamal in 2008, alleging that he had been unfaithful, and the couple finally split the following year, in 2009. Bryant is involved in the Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority in which she serves as a member. Bryant was one of the major cast members for the inaugural season of The Real Housewives of Potomac on Bravo, which debuted on January 17, 2016, and she had a starring role in this season.
Since then, she has continued to be the most prominent member of the cast across all seven seasons of the show. On October 9, 2022, the first episode of The Real Housewives of Potomac’s seventh season was shown. In 2017, Bryant introduced her own cosmetics line known as EveryHue Beauty.
One of Bryant’s primary objectives was to develop the ideal product for ladies of varying skin tones and hues. After that, in the year 2020, she started working as a co-host for the show Chat Room on Bravo alongside fellow Real Housewife Porsha Williams.
Bryant decided to document her life as the First Lady of a megachurch in the form of a fictional book, and she set her sights on publishing it. In April of 2019, she released her book titled “My Word,” for which she was awarded the African-American Literary Award for Best Fiction.
Reasonably Shady is a podcast that Bryant and Robyn Dixon started in November 2021. It focuses on the difficult experiences the hosts have had in their lives and how they have dealt with them. At the 53rd NAACP Image Awards in 2022, the podcast was nominated for Outstanding Arts and Entertainment Podcast. This award was given out in 2022.
