Sayers became the youngest member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame when he was inducted in 1977 at the age of 34. He is one of four Super Bowl era players to be inducted into the Hall of Fame without ever taking part in a postseason match. The only player on the team who played both halfback and kick returner, he was selected for the NFL’s 75th Anniversary Team.
