About Elin Nordegren
After getting a job at Champagne, a clothing store in Stockholm, where she met Mia Parnevik, wife of Swedish golfer Jesper Parnevik, who hired Nordegren as the au pair to their children and required her to relocate to the United States full-time for the position, Nordegren decided to pursue a career in professional golf.
During the 2001 Open Championship, Tiger Woods made her his guest and introduced themselves. Woods had made the request to see Nordegren, who was in a relationship with someone else at the time, throughout the course of the previous year. According to Mia Parnevik, Tiger wasn’t bothered by the fact that she didn’t have any interest in him. “A significant number of eligible bachelor and bachelorette golfers were waiting in line to talk to her. They couldn’t get enough of her.” She had ambitions of becoming a child psychologist at that time in her life.
The city of Stockholm is where Nordegren was born. Her mother, the Swedish politician Barbro Holmberg, served as both the migration and asylum policy minister and the governor of Gavleborg County in the past. Her father, Thomas Nordegren, is a radio journalist who has worked in several capacities in the District of Columbia, including as a bureau chief.
She has a twin sister named Josefin Nordegren and an older brother named Axel Nordegren. In order to put money toward their education, Nordegren and her sister worked throughout the summer months as cashiers in several supermarkets. She made her modeling debut in the year 2000, and by the summer of that same year, she was featured on the cover of Cafe Sport magazine.
While in South Africa for the Presidents Cup tournament in November 2003, Woods and Nordegren became officially engaged when Woods proposed to Nordegren at the opulent Shamwari Game Reserve. This event marked the beginning of their marriage. In October of 2004, they wed in Barbados at the Sandy Lane resort, and the ceremony took place on the 19th hole. Woods hired out the entire complex for a week, at a cost of approximately two million dollars, which included all three golf courses and 110 guest rooms.
On the internet began to make the rounds a series of nude images that purported to be of Nordegren. The Irish journal The Dubliner published the nude images and claimed that they were of Nordegren, despite the fact that the photographs were fakes.
On November 16, 2006, Nordegren initiated legal action against The Dubliner, claiming that the publication had defamed her. Because of his victory, Nordegren was awarded €125,000, and The Dubliner was compelled to issue a lengthy apology in a number of different publications.

She purchased a Florida estate built in the 1920s for a total price of $12 million with the $100 million that she obtained from her divorce from Woods. She had the entire building torn down after receiving the recommendation from an architect that it would be more prudent to start from scratch rather than attempt to bring the house up to date with the latest storm safety requirements.
She gave Habitat for Humanity permission to enter the house for a period of four weeks in December 2011, before to the home’s demolition, so that they might recover whatever of value they may find there.
