Disney is like a whale, it engulfs whatever is in its way. Not in a bad way — it can’t help that it’s a powerhouse. Disney has not only the classic animated movies we’ve come to associate with the brand — but also every Marvel and Star Wars movie under their umbrella now. That means they have a lot of freaking movies coming out in the next few years.

Some upcoming Disney movies are ones we’re on the edge of our seats excited for. Other upcoming Disney movies are… well… they’re giving us a reason to sit at home and wait for the next Netflix release. Here is a look at some of the Disney movies we’re completely stoked for and some that we’re not-too-stoked for.

Other upcoming Disney movies are… well… they’re giving us a reason to sit at home and wait for the next Netflix release. Here is a look at some of the Disney movies we’re completely stoked for and some that we’re not-too-stoked for.

1. THRILLED FOR: Thor: Ragnarok | November 3, 2017

Chris Hemsworth is one of the most gorgeous men to ever make a movie, but as far as the Thor movies gone up until this point… PASS. Then again, here we are and we can’t help but be pretty intrigued with what’s to come in this Marvel flick. Thor: Ragnarok looks like an insane amount of fun. We cannot pass up the glow up of his buddy, Hulk, either. While the former Thor‘s were so-so, this one’s a “we’ll-be-there-on-opening-night” kind of deal.

2. THRILLED FOR: Coco | November 22, 2017

Some haters have said Coco is just a knock-off of The Book of Life (2014) but we’re going to not-so-respectively disagree. Coco brings a much-needed dose of culture to the Disney family and we welcome this new holiday-time flick. When it comes to Coco, the only thing we’re sad about is that is doesn’t open in October.

3. THRILLED FOR: Star Wars VIII: The Last Jedi | December 15, 2017

Will there ever be a day we tire of Star Wars movies? Yeah, but we’ll get to that later. Right now the answer is a big ol’ no. The characters to come out of The Force Awakens were amazing additions to the galaxy far, far away so we’re excited to see them back in action along with some more familiar faces.

4. THRILLED FOR: Black Panther | February 16, 2018

We swear there are movies on this list we’re okay not seeing, but this isn’t one of them. Black Panther was the ONLY thing great about Avengers: Civil War so when he popped up in the end credits, we gasped knowing he’d have his very own movie soon. ‘Soon’ is almost here as this is the first movie in the Disney fam to come in the new year.

5. NOT THRILLED FOR: Magic Camp April 6, 2018

We told you it wasn’t all good. Not too much is known about this movie other than Steve Martin is behind the story. Okay, so it may be funny but this is far from the Disney/Marvel/Star Wars realms that we love. So yeah, we’re going to pass until a trailer proves us to do otherwise. Sorry!

6. NOT THRILLED FOR: Avengers: Infinity War May 4, 2018

How many times can we watch these people who should, theoretically, be on one side fight one another? Seriously, it’s like… you all want things to go right in the world. Work together instead of acting like children. If it’s anything like Civil War, this movie will feel like five hours with just one fight scene that’s more comical than it is action-packed. Sorry, but we’ll be waiting for this one to go on-demand instead of using our hard-earned dollars on theater tickets.

7. NOT THRILLED FOR: A Star Wars Story: Untitled Han Solo Film | May 25, 2018

We told you there was a Star Wars movie we didn’t need. While we’re excited to see Donald Glover in this, he is about the only thing we care about. The second they passed on Taron Egerton playing the part of Han Solo we were out. That’s not to say we won’t see this. We’ll definitely check it out when it hits Netflix.

8. THRILLED FOR: The Incredibles 2 June 15, 2018

THIS IS WHAT WE’VE BEEN WAITING FOR. 15 years. 15 freaking years. In that time, Disney has given us way too many Cars sequels and even expanded that universe to other modes of transportation and we’ve just been waiting for our favorite superhero fam to make a comeback. During that time we also were forced to hear “Let It Go” from Frozen a trillion times. (Don’t get us wrong — we love Frozen, but how many times can you listen to one song?!)

We’ve earned The Incredibles 2. We really have. Word is that even though it’s been 15 years (we’re really not over the long wait), the sequel will pick up right where the other left off. THANK GOD.

9. FAIRLY NEUTRAL: Ant-Man and the Wasp | July 6, 2018

Paul Rudd is one of the coolest actors out there but is sort of the last person you’d expect to be a superhero. Hey, at least it made more sense than when Seth Rogen was The Green Hornet. All that said, we’re not excited for this and we’re not-not excited. Perhaps as its release date gets closer we’ll get more stoked for it — but this Marvel stuff is just getting a tad out of hand.

10. CONCERNED BUT EXCITED FOR: Mulan | November 2, 2018

Making live-action movies is always a gamble when they’re based on Disney movies we’ve come to love, know and respect. It’s really hard to be 100% on board with this live-action Mulan business because a lot of what made the original work was Mushu, the little dragon and the music — but if they’re leaning more towards the actuality of the battles… yeah, we’re going to lose basically everything good about the animated comedy. Everything under-wraps about this Mulan has us feelin’ pretty nervous, but with our fingers crossed that it’ll be amazing.

11. THRILLED FOR: Ralph Breaks the Internet: Wreck-It Ralph 2 | November 21, 2018

This was one of Disney’s best in recent years and we’re 100% sure that the sequel isn’t going to let us down one bit. It’s going to be interesting to see how an arcade character takes on the world of the web. As long as most of the original characters from the first flick are back for #2, so are we.

12. NOT THRILLED FOR: Mary Poppins Returns | December 25, 2018

If Jeopardy had a category entitled “Movies No One Asked For,” one of the answers would be, “What is Mary Poppins Returns?” There are definitely some movies that are like snowflakes, so unique and grand that they are better left alone; untouchable. In the end, we will be buying the soundtrack as Hamilton‘sLin-Manuel Miranda will be playing Jack, but why fix something that’s not broken? Mary Poppins was flawless, so let’s not shake up her memory.

13. THRILLED FOR: Captain Marvel | March 8, 2019

Brie Larson won an Oscar for Room and has proved her acting chops time and time again. She’s also just an amazing woman on and off screen, so we won’t be snoozing through Captain Marvel. We’re all about that girl power in superhero form and cannot wait to see what this one is all about.

14. THRILLED FOR: Aladdin | May 24, 2019

Are we still a little hurt that Avan Jogia was passed up for the role of Aladdin? Yes, forever and always. Is it upsetting to see that Iago isn’t a part of this live-action movie? Yes. We will be there opening day? Yes, most definitely. Will Smith is probably the only person we can allow to take on the role of Genie after Robin Williams, and we’ve got a feeling this live-action remake is going to be amazing.

15. NOT THRILLED FOR: Toy Story 4 | June 21, 2019

No, no, no. Toy Story ended so wonderfully. We never needed to see Woody and the gang again. The first one blew us away with the computer animation. The second was like the middle child of a family — we liked it but kind of forgot about it, TBH. Then there was Toy Story 3 which fully-grown adults sobbed during. We’re still upset it didn’t win Best Picture the year it was nominated for the Oscar. That movie was perfection and wrapped up their story so perfectly with the final wave from Woody. Yes, you know we’re going to see it. We cannot not see it. We’re just not happy about it.

16. NOT THRILLED FOR: Untitled Spider-Man: Homecoming Sequel | July 5, 2019

The only reason to be excited for another Spider-Man with Tom Holland is because of this. Yes, that episode of Lip Sync Battle where he took on his costar Zendaya. We hope the sequel allows him to do this show again. Other than that, we get the gist of Spider-Man. We got it with Tobey Maguire. Then again with Andrew Garfield. Must we have more?

17. NOT THRILLED FOR: The Lion King | July 19, 2019

There is a reason I’ve yet to sit through the live-action Beauty and the Beast. The animated one was perfect and didn’t need to be touched. Those were the same sentiments said when a live-action Lion King was announced. The ONLY reason to want to see this movie is because the people behind The Jungle Book are taking it on. When compared to the 1994 original, they have more than enough to live up to.

18. NOT THRILLED FOR (SORRY): Frozen 2 | November 27, 2019

This may be a completely *unpopular opinion* so brace yourself, people. But Frozen had more plot holes than swiss cheese. In fact, the plot I expected it to have would’ve made that movie 100 times better, just sayin’. Elsa froze the town and two seconds later Anna ran after her? Damn. They could’ve at least suffered decades in a frozen tundra to add suspense. Where was the mystery? Plus, Olaf was fully underrepresented. Dude was in it for like, 10 minutes total. Whether you love Frozen or hate it, can’t we all agree that we don’t need another?

19. NOT THRILLED FOR: Untitled Indiana Jones Movie | June 10, 2020

Super fans of Indiana Jones are not about this. People like me who don’t care about them? We care even less about this. It was rumored that Chris Pratt would be taking the lead on this one…. which okay, might make the deal a bit sweeter. But according to IMDB, Harrison Ford isn’t giving away the role just yet. *Interesting, very interesting*
