About Cynthia Vincent
A M.A.G.I.C. scholarship was awarded to Cynthia Vincent so she may attend the Otis Art Institute at the Parsons School of Design in New York. When she graduated and was given the Silver Thimble Award by Ann Cole, her early career as a fashion design student was distinguished by notable recognition.
Vincent was successful in landing a job with Jane Ong & Co., Ltd. in London, England, despite having to navigate a competitive application process. Vincent was selected from among the top minds in England and overseas, and it took her only a short while to advance to the post of head designer. However, the American-born designer felt drawn to return to her home country, where she sought employment and spent several years honing her skills while working at firms like Harriet Selwyn.
St. Vincent was founded by Vincent in 1993, when she felt ready to start her own fashion business. In the same year, she received the Rising Star in Fashion Award, an honor that only hinted at the future success of the aspiring designer. Vincent was starting to come into her own in 2002 after more than two decades of exemplary fashion creation. She made the decision to change her name to Twelfth Street by Cynthia Vincent, a new brand that would showcase her more affluent sensibility.
Twelfth Street’s new collection, which featured velvet boudoir coats, many sweaters, and silk crepe de chine slips as its distinctive pieces, immediately caught the attention of socialites and celebrities. Scarlett Johansson, Rachel Bilson, and Gwyneth Paltrow are a few of the Hollywood stars who are fans of Vincent.
The designer added shoes, belts, and other accessories to her Twelfth Street range in 2005. ShopBop.com, Revolve Clothing, Neiman Marcus, Bloomingdales, Barneys, and other upscale retailers carry the Twelfth Street line.
