Often an abuser will abuse you while also at the same time claiming a grievance to keep the finger pointed at you. These accusations on you or your character can be difficult to untangle until you truly know yourself. The accusations can be things that they themselves are doing to you! (Yes, MAJORLY sucked at the time). That is something to look out for, if you ever find yourself in that kind of situation.
