We were all introduced to Christina Applegate through the brash blonde character on FOX’s obscene comedy Married…With Children. But Christina’s breast cancer diagnosis wasn’t something to chuckle about. But just like her tenacious career, Christina fought valiantly and triumphed.

Christina was reared by her actress mother Nancy Priddy and was born in Los Angeles, the place where dreams are built for reality television. Christina, who selected an acting profession at the age of three months, followed in her mother’s footsteps. When Christina was a baby, her mother, who was performing on the soap opera Days of our Lives, obtained her first job.
Christina then proceeded to make appearances in commercials before securing a part on the renowned comedy that would start her career.
Christina was only 15 years old when she landed the part of chirpy, ditzy blonde Kelly Bundy on the popular series Married…With Children. Before the set lights went out in 1997, Christina stayed with the show for 11 seasons.
A Major Hit
Before dominating the box office in the romance comedies The Sweetest Thing with Cameron Diaz in 2002 and A View From the Top the following year opposite Gwyneth Paltrow, Christina took a turn on the movie circuit in 1998 with The Big Hit and Mafia! Applegate found time for romance while her film career gradually took off.
In October 2001, she wed actor Johnathon Schaech, who had been her longstanding love.
When she played news anchor Veronica Corningstone opposite Will Ferrell in the funny and commercially blockbuster Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy in 2004, Christina cemented her spot as one of comedy’s leading ladies. A Near Miss
But the actress wouldn’t be brought down by a bad show; in August 2008, it was revealed that Christina had been diagnosed with breast cancer. Just a few weeks later, Christina was told she was cancer-free thanks to early discovery, but her recovery was expensive.
She decided to get a double mastectomy because she didn’t want to take any chances—her mother had previously battled breast cancer.
When Christina emerged from rehab, she had no show to return to, but her newfound gratitude for life prevented her from moping around.
She starred in Going the Distance with Justin Long and Drew Barrymore as the witty elder sister in 2010, and she also provided the voice of Kitty Galore in Cats & Dogs: The Revenge of Kitty Galore. She also got engaged to Martyn LeNoble, the bassist band Porno for Pyros, that year, and the two revealed they were expecting their first child. Christina demonstrated that nothing could get a hilarious lady down, not even cancer, even if she didn’t need a comeback.
