Chip Gaines is a renovator who together with his interior designer wife, Joanna, are stars of HGTV’s Fixer Upper which ran until 2018.
As host of HGTV’s Fixer Upper, Chip and Joanna have been flipping, remodeling and fixing up homes together for the past 12 years as owners of Magnolia Homes in Waco, Texas. They have worked on and flipped more than 100 homes together, leveraging off Chip’s sharp instinct on real estate and Joanna’s unique talent for design.
The couple buys beaten up properties that need a lot of work, fixes them up and sells them for a profit. They have majorly added to their worth by turning their business/lifestyle into a reality TV series called Fixer Upper which ran up until 2018 on HGTV.

However, in truth, we watched Fixer-Uppers, not for the selection of homes Chip made for a guest; we watched it for the work he put into renovating the home, the designs Joanna created and the partnership the couple displayed that inspired us.
