Rookie Season:
He joined the Red Bull Racing squad in the Sprint Cup Series in 2007. As this was also Toyota’s inaugural Cup Series season, A.J. was a rookie driver with a brand-new squad attempting to control a brand-new vehicle.
Toyota struggled, and so did A.J. Each week, they are both just attempting to get to the race in order to earn some useful experience. Allmendinger competed in 17 races in 2007, placing 31.6th on average.
With one victory and a 20th-place points performance that season, Juan Pablo Montoya was named Rookie of the Year.
