2 Chainz, born Tauheed Epps, is a rapper and businessman who made a name for himself in the 2010s for featuring well known rappers’ songs, working with the likes of Kanye West and Nicki Minaj. Since his formative years, he has gone on to be an artist certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America, have seven albums under his belt along with handfuls of EPs and mixtapes, and become a multi millionaire in the process.
His debut album, Based on a T.R.U. Story, was released in 2012. Though the album didn’t receive the greatest feedback from critics, it didn’t affect the album’s commercial performance as the record sold 147,000 copies in its first week, reached number one on the Billboard 200 chart, and sold almost 300,000 copies in the whole of 2012 in the US alone.
